Parkside Fireworks Reminder
Parkside, As we prepare for the July 4th holiday, we’d like to remind everyone that fireworks are strictly prohibited in our neighborhood and throughout the City of Austin.
Hello Parkside,
As we prepare for the July 4th holiday, we’d like to remind everyone that fireworks are strictly prohibited in our neighborhood and throughout the City of Austin.
Important Reminders:
- Fireworks are illegal in the City of Austin, including within Parkside at Slaughter Creek. - The HOA will issue an automatic $350 fine to any resident caught using fireworks or found with firework debris in front of their home. - The City of Austin can impose additional fines of up to $2,000 for violations.
There will be no exceptions and no fee waivers for fireworks-related fines.
To ensure the safety of our community, volunteers will be monitoring the neighborhood throughout the holiday.
If you happen to witness any fireworks activity, please feel free to report it by emailing our property manager, Denise Drennan, at denise@psprop.net and/or calling 311 to report it to the City of Austin. Your report will remain anonymous.
Why this matters:
- Fireworks pose serious risks of injury, property damage, and fire. - Fireworks can be highly distressing to young children and individuals with PTSD. - Fireworks are distressing to pets, particularly dogs, and wildlife. - Fireworks have never been permitted in our neighborhood.
This enforcement was effective for our previous July 4th and New Year holidays, and we will continue with this approach. Thank you for your cooperation.
If you’d like to enjoy fireworks, we encourage you to attend a professional public fireworks show in the Austin area. If you wish to use fireworks yourself, you must do so outside the Austin city limits and not within Parkside at Slaughter Creek.
Thank you for keeping Parkside safe and enjoyable for all.
Wishing everyone a Happy 4th of July!
The Board of Directors
